About the NGO

I am Tiffany Blackman. I am 57 years old and I have a project: Running for families living with ALS.
The challenge is to raise funds in exchange for kilometers run and solidarity events throughout 2026.

I want to create hope in motion, and that is how TEAM 57 was born.
Every movement and every kilometer counts in this race against the slow death that is ALS.

This is a story meant to reach the heart—a challenge that began as a personal commitment and opens up to everyone who wants to support the cause of people diagnosed with ALS and those around them.

Running, walking, dancing, toasting, painting—ultimately, moving in any form to raise funds to support the “ELA Baleares” Association, a non-profit organization based in Mallorca that helps make life easier for families and caregivers, as well as for those who have been diagnosed.

This will be one of the initiatives to be launched throughout the year as part of this challenge. We will announce new actions as they arise.

This February we completed our first challenge, the Megamarsch, which consists of walking 50km in a single day. You can follow us and see the schedule of upcoming events on our Instagram @challenge57 ALS/Reto 57 ELA.

La Esclerosis Lateral Amiotrófica (ELA) es una enfermedad neurodegenerativa, progresiva y actualmente incurable, que afecta a las neuronas motoras. Con el avance de la enfermedad, la persona pierde poco a poco la movilidad, la capacidad de hablar y de respirar, mientras mantiene intactas sus capacidades cognitivas. Actualmente, no tiene cura.

El impacto no solo recae en la persona diagnosticada, sino también en toda su familia, que debe afrontar un camino complejo a nivel físico, emocional y económico.
